Every year April 22 — marks the anniversary of what many consider the birth of the modern environmental movement in 1970. We call it Earth Day.
Earth Day 1970 achieved a rare political alignment, enlisting support from Republicans and Democrats, rich and poor, city slickers and farmers, tycoons and labor leaders. The first Earth Day led to the creation of the United States Environmental Protection Agency and the passage of the Clean Air, Clean Water, and Endangered Species Acts. “It was a gamble,” Gaylord recalled, “but it worked.”
Essentially the reason that we are aware of environmental concerns and the reason that Green Living has become a way of life for many.
Not everyone lives Green for the same reason. Some do it to join the crowd, some because they can save money by living a simpler life and some live Green just for the sake of the future of our Planet Earth.
What ever the reason, we urge you to think about the things that you do on a daily basis.
What effect will it have on the planet?
Where can I make changes big or small, that will make a difference?
Can I really make a difference?
The answer is Yes!
Go to the Earth Day Network website to to learn more and make pledge of your own.
