Ask the Go Green Guy Response to reader question
Michael asks:
Go Green Guy – I have a lot of old paint I need to dispose of…
What is the best and most ecological way to do that?
Are there specific recycling centers in L.A. just for
paint and electronics?
Michael I am glad that you asked.
Too many people just throw old paints and other toxic waste into the trash bin and let someone else worry about it.
It is our responsibility to find appropriate and environmentally safe disposal of these things.
In the LA area the best source for getting rid of old paint is Earth911.com, just input paint and you zip code a list of recycle centers and deposit drop off events in your area will appear.
As for electronics Earth911.com , you can also contact greenspotdropoff.org or freerecycling.com for all of your e-waste recycling.

Many thanks for the information and quick response.
I checked out the Earth 911 site……..
really amazing and informative.
I’m taking the paint to the UCLA recycling
and toxic disposal site on campus.
They even take old electronics.
It is my pleasure, thanks for supporting Go Green America TV
Why not recycle electronics by bartering them off (for example old cell phones). I traded some of my old cell phones for an antiquated table. Check out barterquest.com.
Great idea John, anytime we can re-use or someone else can re-use an item it is a good thing, goodwill, a yard sale, barter all good options.
as for barterquest.com, I have never used it but it looks like a viable option, thanks John
