Whether you are going to a picnic, a parade or to a party to celebrate our country’s freedom, you’ll want to look stylish and festive for the 4th of July.  Here are some eco friendly pieces that are easy to wear and will show your spirit.

Alternative Apparel’s USA Gauze Tank and Cropped Pants.  I love these either together or mix and match.  Both patriotic pieces are super comfy for a full day of fun.  Pair them with some flip flops and your good to go watch the fireworks.  You can order here.

Eileen Fisher has a great line of eco friendly fashion.  If you need a little dressier look for the day’s festivities, look no further than her tiered sundress in sapphire.  Made of Silk Habutai, it will be a summer staple.  It comes in my favorite color too, black.  You can find it on the Eileen Fisher website.

Patagonia‘s organic cotton denim skirt with a little stretch will be perfect for the 4th.  Pair it with a fab tank, like Inhabits sophisticated racer back tank and you’ll be cool and look stylish.

If jeans are a better choice for your activities Jigsaw London’s Green Label has the perfect pair in 100% linen. You can see them here.  I love the  soft, relaxed five pocket style, wear it with Edun’s open weave tank in white,  the perfect pairing for the 4th of July.

Have a safe and fun holiday!

Be eco beautiful.

Gabby Wild’s campaign to save endangered species continues…….

The “12 in 12 for 12″ campaign was Gabby’s genius idea on how to raise awareness and support that is distributed directly to a variety of world-renowned organizations that aid in the conservation of the 12 endangered species featured in the campaign. For the entire year of 2012, Gabby Wild will highlight an endangered or critically endangered species to represent each month of the year through originally designed outfits created by sustainable fashion designers. These outfits will embody a different animal each month, with proceeds raised going to that month’s particular species.
This month’s animal, the Red Panda comes from the mountain ranges of western China as well as the Himalayan Mountain chain. The animal is hunted for its reddish-brown pelt, and their habitat is currently being threatened by deforestation for timber, agriculture and livestock grazing. As a result, there are only about 10,000 Red Pandas left in the wild today, which is why Gabby Wild is taking a stand.
June’s outfit was designed by one of the 8 former Project Runway contestants Gabby has worked with throughout the campaign: Season 8 finalist Andy South. As one of the top 3 designers showing their work at New York Fashion Week in 2010, a star was born and Andy’s career jumped to new heights. He has transferred his enthusiasm for fashion and flare into this outfit inspired by the Red Panda’s happy and playful personality. The outfit is a custom made silk dress and cape. The silk was had dyed in brilliant red and cream water-based dye, which mimics the Red Panda’s pelt.

I unfortunately only found this post after the fourth, but I’d still like to mention another eco-friendly brand that will keep you cool and comfortable this summer. Repair the World has excellent summer wardrobe selections available at repairtheworldnow.com.
