Get Your Perfect Make-Up Without Toxic Chemicals!

Here at Organic Baby University, we are continuing our “Products We Love!” blog series with some products that I have struggled with in particular. When I first began my “chemical-sleuthing” and “product changing” adventure over 4 years ago, there was really only one choice on the Skin Deep Database for cosmetics that ranked a zero that I remember. Since I was trying to avoid ALL nasty chemicals during my pregnancy, I immediately ordered a bunch of their cosmetics in order to go chemical-free in that aspect of my life. What a bust!! It was terrible! The face powder didn’t cover any imperfections at all, the mascara didn’t even look like I had applied it, there were hardly any color choices, and no such thing as a real lip gloss. <sigh> I resigned myself to looking make-up free for the rest of my life. Well, that lasted through the pregnancy, and after I was hoping back onto my chemical-laden choices just for a make-up pick me up! I think this category is near and dear to my heart for this reason. There are now choices out there for products that are not only SAFE but that WORK! Yay!

Rejuva Minerals is my new exciting find that I want to share with you women who want to avoid toxic chemicals in your cosmetics, face soaps, etc…but still want to have all the shine, pizazz and coverage of conventional make-ups! We found them!! We want to give you a quick overview since there are so many great products! Apparently some other famous people have figured out how great these products were before I did…

MASCARA – A REAL mascara that works and gives you thick, fab lashes with no nasties!! I use it and LOVE it! Paraben free (as are all products), mica and titanium dioxide free

EYE LINER CRAYON – This gives you a nice thick or thin line without pressing hard. So many out there are like trying to draw with a lead pencil …so hard and doesn’t leave any color! This one WORKS! It is one of Rejuva’s top sellers which is no surprise, it is 100% natural, Vegan, titanium dioxide free, made with organic botanicals and oils

FOUNDATION- These actually give coverage for people like me who want to look like we have smooth, even skin! Yay!! It is blended with organic pomegranate, grape and rosemary. Free from common skin irritants (as all of their loose powder products are), such as bismuth oxychloride, titanium dioxide and mica. Clinically tested and gluten free.

LIP GLOSS -  Maybe my personal favorite of all of their products!! These glosses are REALLY glossy and shiny!! LOVE THEM!! I have no idea how they make something that works this well without petroleum and all sorts of terrible chemicals! All shades are made with 79% organic content and are titanium dioxide free.

MULTI TASK POWDER – This is also a top seller. These are blended with organic pomegranate and grape. Infused with cocoa for natural color and fragrance. Colored with only cocoa and mineral enriched clay.

BLUSH – Soft Rose #1 selling blush shade. Infused with organic pomegranate and organic grape. And, crushed red rose petals are added for natural color and scent.

ULTRA HYDRATION MOISTURIZER – This is a GREAT moisturizer that really moisturizes without making you feel greasy or making you break out. As a person in my late 30′s I have the wonderful experience of having both wrinkles AND occasional acne! Sad. This helps me not have so many wrinkles without making me break out! I also found out that this product was part of legendary designer, Isaac Mizrahi’s Spa Birthday Gift Basket. Very chic. From their site “100% natural. Ultra hydrating and toning. Promotes fresher, younger looking skin. Made with organic aloe, sunflower, avocodo, jojoba, cocoa and coconut.”

EYE MAKEUP REMOVER – This is the makeup remover for women looking for a remover that really works. I have another kind that is like a lotion that is more of a lotion remover but it doesn’t really work that great and you can’t put anything on after using it for hours. This stuff really gets all the makeup off effectively with no residues! No nasty chemicals but keep out of your eyes (duh!)…and its also gluten free.

LUXURIOUS FACIAL SOAP BAR- LOVE this face soap! It cleans your face well without drying it out!  Good for not breaking your face out or making it too greasy either! It lasts a really long time too. It is also 85% organic and unscented so you won’t have a bunch of competing smells on you all the time.
