Most moms have heard of Naturepedic Organic Mattress by now…but if you haven’t listen up! We are going to tell you why they are a great product and we are going to answer all those questions you have about whether they are safe! In short…yes they are! Parents in general believe that if a product is on the market it must be safe. One of the biggest things we want parents to learn here at OBU is that this is NOT THE CASE! There is little to no regulation on personal care, mattresses, and chemicals in general. There have been 80,000 new chemicals created and dispersed in our bodies and environment in the last 50 years and less than 200 have ever been tested for safety by anyone..ever! Sadly, this means as a consumer YOU must EDUCATE YOURSELF about what is in your products in order to choose safer for your family. Many of the chemicals that have had testing done have shown REAL LINKS to cancer, hormone disruption, cancer and more! Don’t be fooled by other companies that use the word “organic” in their marketing…MANY companies (Sealy for example) use the term “made with organic cotton” and sell their mattress as organic…yet it is covered in Vinyl and Boric Acid (used in rat poisoning) as a flame retardant! Yikes! Don’t be fooled!
