You Are Eco-Nuts for Using That Popular Detergent! Find A Non-Toxic Alternative
What? A nut that is soap? What is that??
That is the new amazing product that our favorite company Eco Nuts offers that we are dying to tell you about! Soap nuts are berries that come from the Himalayas that are grown without any nasty pesticides or chemicals. They have a natural soap “built in” that acts like a surfactant. These are ingredients that get dirt off clothes and keep it in the water when you wash it. They don’t foam up like regular detergent but you should be avoiding things that foam anyway in any of your products! Foam doesn’t clean! It is made using a bunch of nasty chemicals almost always and does nothing other than make you visually think it is cleaning! It is just marketing.
So now you know what a soap nut is, let us tell you why we love this product and Eco Nuts brand! Soap nuts are extremely gentle and natural. This is the reason that moms get fooled into buying the toxic counterparts like Dreft and Free and Clear brands. They are supposed to be safer with no harsh chemicals. Wrong! Dreft marketed specifically FOR BABIES
-contains three chemicals that are required to be listed as “right to know” chemicals and are considered HAZARDOUS INDREDIENTS by OSHA. http://www.docstoc.com/docs/13263951/Liquid-Dreft-Laundry-Detergent-MSDSMeaning they are required to be disclosed as they are considered as potentially toxic. Dreft also contains “fragrance” which is a serious chemical concern. Fragrance is typically created using chemicals called phthalates, which have been linked to birth defects, cancer and more! Not exactly what most moms are trying to buy when they are looking for a safe “for baby” detergent! Clever marketing is what they are buying!
Free and Clear brands
-These may not contain fragrance OR may use other chemicals to mask the smells of other chemicals so you don’t have a smell. Better? Maybe a little…you may or may not be getting exposed to phthalates or other fragrance chemicals. However, the rest of the ingredients are typically the same toxic soup as “regular” detergents that typically contain:

Colorants-May cause cancer or other health concerns in humans
Optical Brighteners-May cause developmental and reproductive effects, potentially toxic
Solvents-Potentially toxic to humans
Sound like a product that you want to use on something that you are going to have against your skin? Or your babies? And keep in mind that these chemicals do NOT wash out fully! Scary! So natural laundry products are very important!
- What a Soap Nut Looks Like!
Soap nuts are natural without these nasty chemicals. They are safe for cloth diapers, no nasty chemicals for your babies (ESPECIALLY those with eczema or other skin problems!), chemically sensitive people, and anyone who is trying to choose safer products and eliminate chemicals in their home. They are not actual nuts so no worries for those moms with children with nut allergies. As a mom with a child with eczema, I have found these nuts to be perfect for my baby…no reactions! Especially as you get educated and learn there are so many supposed “green” laundry soaps and detergents that still contain toxic chemicals. So frustrating.

Is this brand the same that was seen on Shark Tank. If so, the two owners of this product left me concerned about the quality of this product. More information is needed. I seem to remember something about the sanitizing process. Any more info?
The fact that they were discussing was that they were the only ones who do sanitize, but they did not make that clear and they confused the sharks with that and also the value of the company
